SEvans is a really nice, kind and talented man. I have enjoyed getting to know him. He writes horror and poetry and loves to play pool. He is a father of three boys all grown now. He is very proud of them. He has a great sense of humor and a zest for life. The one thing he wanted to make sure his readers know is that he recently changed his author name from Steve Evans to SEvans. This change has not been made on Amazon yet but will be soon. If you haven’t had a chance to meet him or read his writing please take the time to check him out. Please welcome SEvans to Roadie Notes…….
1. How old were you when you first wrote your first story?
The first thing I wrote was a poem. I was in fourth grade and it was based on an interview with a first grader regarding his likes; it was 86 lines long…lol.
2. How many books have you written?
I’ve written three poetry books, two of which are already published: Reflections of Life and Love, and Savor the Darkness. My third poetry book Deceiving Eternity is ready to be sent to my publisher and will be my final poetry book.
I’ve been in two anthologies with some incredible authors: Once Upon A Cursed Time is a dark fairytale anthology. I have two stories included in it; Prince Recreant is my retelling of The Princess and the Pea and A Game of Roses: Bocephus’ Revenge is more of a sequel to Rumplestiltskin. Both are dark and brutal and have a twist in them. The second anthology The Unforgiven is a horror anthology where the stories are based on revenge. I have one story in this anthology called White Wedding: Reckoning and it’s about a murderous little doll named Jen trying desperately to protect her best friend Jess.
My first horror novel WEEPING WILLOW book #1 Daddy’s Angel was released on Oct 22nd. It’s about the dangers of wallowing in self-pity and grief and how those actions can open your soul up to attack from a dark force. It’s the first of a three book series.
3. Anything you won’t write about?
Nothing is off-limits to a writer, though, my mind tends to twist everything into a dark horror filled existence.
4. Tell me about you. Age (if you don’t mind answering), married, kids, do you have another job etc…
I’M forty-two years old. I am currently separated and working on the divorce. I have three boys all grown now and on their own. Writing is my life.
5. What’s your favorite book you have written?
Weeping Willow for sure. I never thought I could keep focused enough on one subject to write an entire book without it reading like ten different people wrote it. It’s my favorite because I take you through the full range of emotions as the lead character experiences them.
6. Who or what inspired you to write?
I had a lot of family and friends who loved my poetry and kept encouraging me to write… so I did.
7. What do you like to do for fun?
Shooting pool! That relaxes me and in ways allows me not to think; to silence the voices in my mind if you will.
8. Any traditions you do when you finish a book?
Sleep…lol, a story keeps me awake and refuses to let me sleep until it’s finished and I type the words “The End”.
9. Where do you write? Quite or music?
I write at a little desk in my room and I usually have my fan going and the radio playing loud. I can’t think when it’s too quiet.
10. Anything you would change about your writing?
I couldn’t change my style of writing if I wanted to. I’m too set in my stubborn country ways to change…lol.
11. What is your dream? Famous writer?
Yeah, of course, I don’t believe any writer would spend this much time and energy agonizing over each word if they didn’t want to be known for it.
12. Where do you live?
I live in the small Oklahoma town of Welch. But, my heart will always be in Kentucky.
No pets at the moment but I love dogs.
14. What’s your favorite thing about writing?
When I type “The End” and get the story out of my head but the most satisfaction is gained when people leave reviews or message me saying they liked it and felt moved by the story.
15. What is coming next for you?
Next up is Weeping Willow book #2 The Mark. Deceiving Eternity all I have to do is send it to the publisher. After that, I don’t know, it’s a free-for-all with the stories and characters fighting for top billing in my head.
