1. How old were you when you first wrote your first story?
I was 8 years old and I wrote a Pantomime. Well, I told my mum what to write and she had to do all the monkey work. I was like a young Barbara Cartland. Only with better make up. As an adult the first thing I wrote independently (I’ve written several things in a partnership) was a short play called Raid! About a post office which gets raided by 3 different people at the same time.
2. How many books have you written?
I have written 4 books, 1 play, and numerous scripts.
3. Anything you won’t write about?
No not really. As long as I believed a story was worth telling I would write about anything.
4. Tell me about you. Age (if you don’t mind answering), married, kids, do you have another job etc…
I’m 37, married with 2 little boys. I live in a small town called Runcorn in the North West of England. I work a full-time job, co own a production company, write & direct short films, I am a director of 2 film festivals and write books. Sometimes I sleep!
5. What’s your favorite book you have written?
Death in a Northern Town is my favourite simply because it’s the book the set me off on this crazy journey.
6. Who or what inspired you to write?
My Family are my main inspiration. Everything I do I do for them.
7. What do you like to do for fun?
Writing, filmmaking. All of this is also my hobby. It keeps me sane!
8. Any traditions you do when you finish a book?
No not really. Pretty boring I suppose. I usually just start work on another project!
9. Where do you write? Quite or music?
I generally write any chance I get in any place that’s available. It’s very rare I get more than an hour or two to myself a day and because of this I always have a pen and pad with me, writing what I can, when I can.
10. Anything you would change about your writing?
Only that I had time to write more.
11. What is your dream? Famous writer?
I have no interest in being famous but the goal is to write for a living.
12. Where do you live?
Runcorn, England. If you want to know what it’s like read Death in a Northern Town!
Two cats, Betty and Lenny Loggins.
14. What’s your favorite thing about writing?
Being in a position to share my work with other people. It’s an amazing feeling when people enjoy what I do.
15. What is coming next for you?
I am about to start filming my next comedy horror film, The Quacky Slasher and I am writing a new horror book called, 50 Blades of Ray. I am also working on a short story for an exciting horror anthology which will be released later this year. I can’t say too much about this yet, other than some of the best horror writers in the world are involved. It’s very exciting.
