P is passionate about his writing and it shows in his books. If you haven’t read anything by him please do you won’t be sorry! Remember to leave a review for him as they are so important to the authors. Please help me welcome P Mark DeBryan to Roadie Notes……….

1. How old were you when you first wrote your first story?
I was 54 years old when I wrote my first published story. I have always been a voracious reader and was challenged by an author to write a short story in his world. I did, and he published it. We talked some more after that and he encouraged me to expand it to a full-length novel, and Family Reunion was born!

2. How many books have you written?
Several short stories and two full length novels. Family Reunion J is the second book in the Apocalypse Family book series. It takes place at the same time frame as the first book and is about our main character Ryan’s wife and two kids back in West Virginia and South Carolina. The book actually starts the day Jay drops Ryan off at the airport then all hell breaks loose.

3. Anything you won’t write about?
Not that I’m aware of, I try to keep the sex and language realistic. By that I mean, my characters swear when appropriate and don’t have sex in every chapter.

4. Tell me about you. Age (if you don’t mind answering), married, kids, do you have another job etc
I’m 57 years old and have been married for 30 years this July. I have two kids, a boy and girl, 28 and 26 respectively. My son is married and has a son. My daughter is single and owns her own home. Both live close enough that I can see them all the time, which is good because I am all about family. (IE… it’s what matters!) The grandson is absolutely the best looking and smartest kid ever born. I know some of you may think I’m bias, but I’m serious.

5. What’s your favorite book you have written?
The next one.

6. Who or what inspired you to write?
As I’ve said, I’ve read so many different authors from so many different genres that I can’t credit just one, I suppose it was my mother that really is responsible. I flunked second grade, excuse me, I was held back, because I couldn’t read. My mom began to read to me every night at bedtime and we shared innumerable adventures together and never left the house. That love of a good story has been there since then, only now I tell them as well as read them.

7. What do you like to do for fun?
I love the beach! I love going places and having adventures… anything will do. Fishing in Mexico with my brother, skydiving with my son, or just cracking a cold one on the deck with my friends.

8. Any traditions you do when you finish a book?
Hmmm… nope but I’m open to suggestions.

9. Where do you write? Quite or music?
Okay, this is actually a secret that I have promised to tell my readers in the past. I haven’t done so yet as I thought it was actually something weird and people would not understand. I promise I will break this news sometime during the month of May on Facebook as the Zombie book of the month.

10. Anything you would change about your writing?
Yes, I look forward to a time when I don’t have to squeeze it in. I plan to retire from the day job in a few years and write 2000 words a day.

11. What is your dream? Famous writer?
That my kids will live long and happy lives, and yes, to be a successful writer. Fame on a small scale is okay, but I wouldn’t want to have it 24/7, oh who am I kidding, I LOVE ATTENTION.

12. Where do you live?
I live in the capital of West (by God) Virginia. I love it here! We spend a good amount of time at the beach as well.

13. Pets?
Kona is my chocolate lab. She is a laplab, 80lbs of love and kisses. Bugsy is my wife’s Pekinese, 6lbs of pure orneriness.

14. What’s your favorite thing about writing?
Entertaining the reader. I love seeing people and have them tell me they enjoyed my book. People who don’t like it is my least favorite thing… lol

15. What is coming next for you?
I am currently working on two projects. One is a continuation of Family Reunion with Ryan and the gang, the other is a sci-fi horror book that is still percolating.

Anything else you would like me to include please feel free to tell me!
